Fun story: I grew up in a sports-centric town as a kid with dyspraxia. That's a disability that makes my coordination and fine motor skills not so fine.
I had to go to therapy to learn how to do up buttons. I was also a creative kid, with all these ideas of how I wanted things to look in my head. I went through years of frustration (and failed art classes) untill picking up 35mm film photography. (Thanks Mr. Byrne)
As a visual person by nature, I had found my outlet. 5 years later I haven't looked back, always finding an excuse to get out and shoot stuff or add visuals to stories.
Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I think that's slightly pretentious towards my wonderful colleagues who write amazing stories.
What I will say, is I love capturing a moment in time, in a way that only a photo can...and some would say "That's pretty cool!"
